CONCEPT APP—QUIRA
Productivity app that blocks distractions and offers book summaries.
UX/UI, CONCEPTUAL, USER INTERVIEW, MOBILE DESIGN
Introduction
A concept app—Quira.
Quira is a productivity and time management concept app that was designed in my senior year at ASU. It was inspired by my recent personal struggles during the summer of 2024 with doomscrolling in social media, which has led to many unproductive hours and unhealthy use of my personal time.
With Quira I want to empower people to gain back their lost time from mindless scrolling, and spend that lost time to something more meaningful.
This project was awarded the Fall 2024 Design Excellence Award from the Herberger Institute for Design and Arts at Arizona State University.

PERSONAL PROJECT
Overview
Transforming how people use their time online by fostering more mindful, productive, and intentional digital consumption.
For years now, the rise in screen time in this tech-centric generation has led to more unproductive behaviors like mindless scrolling, which has led to much less meaningful digital content consumption.
By giving people control over their app usage within Quira, users can become more selective in which apps they use, and additionally have the option to replace doom scrolling with micro-learning through personally curated book readings within the app.
Homepage
The central hub: explore key actions, view focus score, browse personally curated book summaries and track screen time usage.
The homepage showcases the two main features: creating a block session and entering focus mode, along with a carousel of book summaries and a summary of your daily screen time.
At the top, you can see a summary of your daily screen time and an overall focus score, providing an objective assessment of your app usage and reading habits.
Block Session
Boost productivity by removing distractions with the block session feature.
The block session feature allows users to select specific apps to keep accessible while blocking others, enabling focused work. Users can create sessions, set reading content, and establish limits to enhance productivity.
Personalized Session
Full control and view for each personalized session
The block page allows you to manage your block sessions by viewing, editing, or deleting them, while also providing detailed insights into screen time usage.

Focus Mode
Set aside focus time to finish pressing tasks.
Focus mode helps you concentrate by allowing you to create and prioritize a to-do list, set a work timer, and connect to Spotify for music.
It temporarily locks you into the app to minimize distractions, with a pause feature that intentionally prompts a slide interaction before unlocking your phone.
Standby Mode
Stay in focus, even while docked.
When an iPhone is charging and docked horizontally, users can still gain access to features in the app in a horizontal view for better task management, without the need to unlock the phone.
Library
Less doomscrolling, more reading and learning
The library page features a directory of books available online, as well as books you've read, saved, or bookmarked, along with daily story summaries of curated books for quick insights.
You can discover new books by category, bookmark summaries for later, and explore detailed content and curated summaries for each book.
